And a cranky slayer is a careless slayer. -Buffy re: when slaying interferes with dating.

The Story:
- - She Is The Strangest Girl - -
When one of the cuter boys in school, Owen Thurman, shows an interest in Buffy she decides to attempt to be a normal girl and go on a date. Unfortunately, at the same time, Giles uncovers a prophecy predicting the rise of a powerful new vampire. After missing one date Buffy convinces Giles to let her go even though he believes part of the prophecy was fulfilled when five people died in a van accident the night before. When Giles goes to check out the funeral home by himself he is ambushed by the Master's minions. Willow and Xander interrupt Buffy's date after following Giles and finding him hiding in the morgue. The Scoobies rush to the funeral home unaware that Owen has tagged along. Even though the Master's minions are gone one of the victims of the van crash, who is now a vampire, attacks the gang and nearly kills Owen. After slaying the vampire Buffy thinks she averted the rise of the Annoited One though we later learn he is really the young boy on the bus, Collin.
