The Story:

At the Bronze's annual Fumigation Party Willow and Buffy discuss their respective crushes on the men in their lives. Meanwhile Xander and Cordelia exchange insults on the dance floor. After leaving the Bronze early Buffy gets attacked by a group of vampires named the Three. Apparently outmatched Buffy recieves some unexpected help from her mystery man, Angel. They narrowly escape and hide in the saftey of the Summer's home. Buffy accidentally reveals her crush after wrongly accusing Angel of reading her diary. He admits he has similar feelings and they share a passionate kiss which ends up in the revelation that Angel is a vampire. After Angel's sire, Darla, attacks Joyce, making it appear that it was Angel who bit her, Buffy decides she must kill him. During their face off Angel reveals that he was cursed by gypsies, giving him a soul, and that it was really Darla who attacked Joyce. He ends up staking Darla in order to protect Buffy. Reluctantly Buffy and Angel decide that they can't ever be together.
