The Story:
- - Ready For The Long Walk - -
It is Anya and Xander's wedding day. Shortly before the wedding, an old man appears and demands that he talk to Xander. He tells Xander he is from the future and that if he marries Anya that day he would be making the biggest mistake of his life. The vision of the future that this man shows Xander is very bleak. It scares Xander in seeing not only what might happen but who he could become, a version of his father. Confused Xander takes off. It is discovered that the old man isn't an older version of Xander but a former victim of Anya's from her Vengeance Demon days. Xander returns in time to save Anya's life but he has come to the conclusion that he isn't ready to get married. Forever is a scary thing and he isn't ready to take that step. Xander leaves Anya at the alter and checks into a hotel. D'Hoffryn offers to give a heartbroken Anya her old job back.

Say What? - quote of the week... More Quotes
Anya: Okay. Okay, this is the last time. Ahem, I, Anya, want to marry you, Xander, because I love you and I always will. Before I met you, I was, like, a different person. Not even a person really... and I had seen what love did to people. It was hurt. And sadness. Alone was better. And then suddenly there was you, and you knew me, you saw me, and it was this... thing. You make me feel warm, and safe. So I get it now, I finally get love, Xander. I really do.

Slayage - 1 - Buffy strangled the demon that scared Xander away, a victim of Anya's vengeance demon days, with a veil off a cow's head on the wall of the church.
