The Story:
- - She's Got Powers Of Helping - -
We see Buffy, the counselor, meeting with several Sunnydale High students. One girl, Cassie, tells Buffy that she is going to die on Friday. Concerned Buffy, along with Dawn, Xander, and Willow, begin to search for potential threats. They discover many possible suspects including Cassie's friend Mike, whom she recently turned down for the winter formal, and her father, who has a history of violence. Knowing Buffy is trying to help Cassie thanks her, but again emphasizes that though she doesn't want to die, she just knows she will and there's nothing anyone can do to help her. Though Buffy saves Cassie's life twice, once from a group of high school boys who attempt to use her as a sacrifice to raise a demon and secondly from nearly being shot through the eyes by an arrow, Cassie still ends up dying from a undetected heart problem. We end with the gang comtemplating the fact that no matter how hard they try they can't save everyone.

Say What? - quote of the week... More Quotes
Cassie: You think I want this? You think I don't care? Believe me, I want to... be here, do things. I want to graduate from high school and I want to go to the stupid winter formal. I have this friend and it would be fun to go with him. Just to dance and hear lame music, to wear a silly dress and laugh and stuff. I'd like to go. There's a lot of stuff I'd like to do. I'd love to ice skate at Rockefeller Center. And I'd love to see my cousins grow up and see how they turn out cause they're really mean and I think they're going to be fat. I'd love to backpace across the country or, I don't know, fall in love, but I won't. I just never will.
