HBP: Chapter 29 - The Phoenix Lament
Why is Lupin in the hospital wing? How did he know to come tonight? I thought he was undercover with the werewolves... Was he at Hogwarts for something else? Was it a mere coincidence? Did someone tip him off that the Death Eaters were getting into Hogwarts that night? Who would have told him? Greyback? Snape? Dumbledore? If it was Dumbledore how could he have known? He was gone the whole time the Death Eaters were entering Hogwarts... did he know this was going to happen before he left? Was this part of a bigger plan?
So what exactly will happen to Bill now that he has been bitten by the werewolf Greyback? Is he now a werewolf? If not what is he? How will this change him? Hope there aren't any serious complications that we will have to watch out for in the future. They say he won't look the same... what will be different?
Okay now I am suspicious. Ron states that "Where is he? Bill fought those maniacs on Dumbledore's orders, Dumbledore owes him..." (614) Dumbledore's orders? Again how would Dumbledore have known that Death Eaters were going to be in Hogwarts that night and that he would need members of the order to fight them? Whern were these orders from Dumbldedore given. We are missing something big. Things aren't adding up like they should be here...
Why am I suspicious to hear Fawkes singing at a time like this. Does Fawkes get his name from Guy Fawkes? Would that imply that he is part of a conspiracy? I am very suspicious...
Probably not important but when McGonagall entered: "Everyone roused themselves as though coming out of trances, turning again to look at Bill, or else to rub their own eyes, shake their heads." (615)
Tonks says about Snape: "But Dumbledore swore he was on our side!" whispered Tonks. "I always thought Dumbledore must know something about Snape that we didn't..." (615) maybe he does(did?)... what could that thing be that made him trust Snape? Why couldn't he tell anyone why he trusted Snape? Would that have ruined a bigger plan? Harry thinks it has to do with what Snape overheard Trelwany telling Dumbledore about the prophecy? Is Harry correct? Is it more than that? Does it have to do with the night Harry's parents died? Is it because Lily died?
Was Draco expecting Harry's friends to be waiting for him outside the room of requirement? He certainly was prepared. See Fred and George I told you to be more careful about what you sold and who you sold it too. When did Draco buy the Peruvian Instant Darkness Poswer? Was it the day in Diagon Alley? Did he have it mail ordered? Did he buy it some other time we don't know of? Was that all Draco bought from the twins? Hey wasn't that part of their super secret products? How did Draco find out about it?
Who set of the Dark Mark? Was it Gibbon as Lupin says? Was it someone else? Why not stay on the tower then? Was he told to keep it empty for Draco? How did Draco know to find Dumbledore on the tower?
Did Snape stupefy Flitwick like Hermione says? What good would that have done? What exactly happened in Snape's office? We get Hermione's interpretation from listening outside but we never actually see what happened? Did Snape know the Death Eaters were in Hogwarts? I find it hard to believe that he had no knowledge like McGonagall and others claim... How can we assume to know what Snape's intentions were? Snape is the only one who knows for sure what his intentions are...
Wow Fleur must really love Bill if she still wants to marry him even though we don't know how the werewolf bit might affect him... Lupin and Tonks? Cute... never saw it coming... i still don't trust her especially if the pink hair returns...
How come more people aren't as upset as Hagrid about Dumbledore's death... they are taking it very well considering...
Uh... were is Peeves? It seems way to quiet in the halls... Is he gone now that Dumbledore is gone? Should we be suspicious if he returns?
It is said at the end of the chapter that Fawkes had left Hogwarts? Where would a phoenix go? Will we see him again?
