PS: Chapter 4 - The Keeper of the Keys

Hagrid is the "Keeper of the Keys"????? Well technically Hagrid introduces himself as the keeper of keys and grounds at Hogwarts but the title emphasizes the keeper of the keys part of his title. How come we never really hear this title again after this? Keys? As in plural? We only see one key... does Hagrid hold more than this one key? The title would imply that he is the keeper of more than one key... Are they all literal keys like the key he gives Harry that opens his parents bank vault or are there metaphorical keys that Hagrid holds as well? Could he hold the key to unlocking the mystery of the story? What could that be?

For the first time we hear the phrase that will haunt us throughout the entire series... what exactly could it mean? "Las' time I saw you, you was only a baby," said the giant. "Yeh look a lot like yer dad, but yeh've got yer mom's eyes." (47)

What all have you got hidden in those pockets of yours Hagrid? Do you know all that you have in your pockets?

Again the letter Dumbledore left for the Dursleys is mentioned by Hagrid and he is shocked that the Dursleys have never shared it with Harry. What exactly is in this letter? Anything important? Will we ever see its entire contents?

We get to learn a little about Lily's childhood from Petunia. "Oh, she got a letter just like that and disappeared off to that - that school - and came home every vacation with her pockets full of frog spawn, turning teacups into rats. I was the only one who saw her for what she was - a freak! But for my mother and father, oh no, it was Lily this and Lily that, they were proud of having a witch in the family." (53) What exactly does frog spawn do? We see it several times throughout the series but so far I cant figure out what it does... Uh technically as we learn in OotP Lily couldnt have turned teacups into rats outside of Hogwarts without encountering sever punishements since she was in a muggle home (wasnt she in a muggle home?). Why would 2 muggles be so proud to have a witch in the family? Seems like we are missing something important here but what????

We learn some back story from Hagrid about Harry's past and his parents but is everything that Hagrid tells us accurate? He comes right out and says that some parts of Harry's past are a great mystery. A couple of things Hagrid said worried me. Especially his comment about the fact that Voldemort didn't dare to take over Hogwarts while Dumbledore was there "... not jus' then, anyway." (55) Very ominous wording Hagrid... Also I was worried by this: "Never wondered how you got that mark on yer forehead? That was no ordinary cut. That's what yeh get when a powerful, evil curse touches yeh - took care of yer mum an' dad an'yer house, even - but it didn't work on you, an' that's why yer famous, Harry. No one ever lived after he decided ter kill 'em, no one except you..." (55) Of what we know about this curse it should not have destroyed a house... something seems very wrong about this information....

While Hagrid was talking Harry had a memory of the night his parents died. If he was less than a year old how could he possibly remember this? What he remembered was "...a high, cold, cruel laugh." (56) We assume this is Voldemort's laugh but could we be wrong? Does anyone else we know have a high, cold, cruel laugh? How could it connect?
